SpinVox @ CTIA ‘09

April 7th, 2009

It seems like only last week I showed you that awesome video about our stand at Mobile World Congress. That would be of course, because was only last week! :) Still not seen it? Go see it now!

:D

For those of you who were paying attention, you’ll know that SpinVox was in Las Vegas last week, attending  the CTIA Wireless conference. Not one to do things by halves, the SpinVox Speech Mobsters aka – The Guardians of Voice – were out in force and well, they made quite the impact!

This post from Top Ten Reviews was one of my favourites:

Now that is a blog post I can get behind! :D

Aside from the Guardians of Voice being the talk of the town, the real story was that of the ‘SpinVox Create‘ API Programme going live to the masses, if you’re still in the dark about that particular subject – get yourself over to our designated signup page and get involved! :)

Thanks to all that made our stand at CTIA such a resounding success, the teams all over the world pulled out all the stops to make this one of our best stands yet. Well done!

And if the photo above isn’t clear enough, there’s a whole bunch of other photos uploaded on Picasa for you to browse/peruse/enjoy at your pleasure…

‘Nokia Users’ LOVE SpinVox

March 20th, 2008

Way back when SpinVox was in Barcelona. I met a lovely chap called Jeremiah.
Goes by the name of ‘Pseudofinn’ online, (Google him – you’ll see).

Anyway, we had a chat about all things mobile-related and eventually we got onto the subject of SpinVox.

Voice to text?! Eh?

Well ‘Pseudofinn’ finally went and signed up a couple of weeks ago and now?

It seems he is Simply Smitten with SpinVox. Not only that but he also think it’s ultra-cool too!

You can read why he feels this way over on his website – www.nokiausers.net

And if you like what he’s done there – you should definitely check out the Flickr Group he set up called:

Speech Mobsters on the March Around the Globe!

If you’ve got a SpinVox Speech Mobster, why not take a photo and add it to the group – (we have)
Some of the entries can be seen on the left column of this blog – under Mobster Pics – or you can click through and see the whole lot yourself.

I’ll be back later with some more link love…

March 18th, 2008

Dr Tony Robinson, director of the cambridge-based SpinVox Advanced Speech Group (ASG) was on the BBC the other day demonstrating how SpinVox works and how the ASG assist in ‘Teaching the Speech Machine’.

If you interested, you can read the whole article over on the BBC or you can just watch the video below

Enjoy!

MWC Sneak Peek!

February 11th, 2008

Hola!

We made it to Barcelona! WOOP WOOP!

…and I can tell you something: The SpinVox Stand looks AMAZING!

The team over here have worked tirelessly since late last week, getting our stand ready in time for the crazy kick off this morning.

And ready it is!

We finished up quite late last night but before we all toddled off and tucked ourselves in for the night, (and before the cleaners threw us out), I grabbed this video for you with an EXCLUSIVE first look at the SpinVox stand…

ENJOY!

Wednesday Afternoon Round Up

December 5th, 2007

First a Monday Morning Catch Up and now a Wednesday Afternoon Round Up… Maybe on Friday I’ll get a fry up!

News

Who knows…?

Ok – on with the business of blogging – there’s been a lot of chittery chat chat about SpinVox of late so let’s give a quick lowdown on who, what and where:

First up – good advice for anyone thinking about starting their own blog can be found over at defogmyblog – having spoken with the author a couple of times now it was nice to see this recent piece about defogging SpinVox and finding surprising blogging uses. There’s also another post straight after that one attempting to ‘defog’ Twitter and SpinVox gets another cheeky nod regarding Twittering through SpinVox.

So pop over and have a nose – there really is some great content/advice for anyone considering getting on the blog-ladder.
Be it through SpinVox or otherwise.

Next up a Technovangelist promises some reviews of amazing software I use every day and that I can’t live without – he’s yet to write them. However, when he does, I for one look forward to reading what he has to say about SpinVox.

After that we have a whole host of coverage regarding our latest award – which I blogged about (rather begrudgingly) just the other day.
But why read that when you can read the news at these great places:

Techclub Journal, Investors.com, Blog Herald, Business Wire, Boxxet and SMS Text News.

And finally we have, of course, our appearance at Mobile Monday (MoMo) London. Simon Crowfoot was our man giving the SpinVox point of view on the world of Voice 2.0 and how there is still innovation to be found in the voice market; It just has to be simple

You can find some other points of view on the evening’s topic of discussion here and here.

I’ve STILL got a couple of other things to post up – but they deserve posts in their own right – including another award!

WOO!

BBS.

Introducing: “Figures of Speech”

November 6th, 2007

As we say on our homepage SpinVox believes that What we say, and how we say it, is a wonderful and powerful thing.

SpinVox captures thoughts and emotions spoken in the moment as voice messages and turns them into text. SpinVox then delivers that text to a destination of your choice – screen, inbox, blog, walls and spaces – within minutes.
So those moments are moments that can be read, preserved and cherished forever.

That’s who we are and that’s what we do.

So what about our blog?

Well we already have a PR section on our website. This blog is not about PR. This blog is about SpinVox. And SpinVox is about Speaking Freely.
Therefore, aside from content from around the world about SpinVox and our Speech-Mobbing events (which are kinda like Flash Mobbing events, but SpinVox style), we would also like to use this platform to enable and empower Speaking Freely.

Punctuating our blog-posts with some real emotion and real words; captured, in the moment and brought to you through SpinVox.

How are we going to do this?
Well, SpinVox would like to introduce Figures of Speech.

Figures of Speech

The Figures of Speech is a brand new format created by the Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA), the UK based and internationally-renowned home of pioneering arts and ideas.
As part of the SpinVox launch stateside, the ICA put together two evenings of dynamic presentations. One in New York and the other in San Francisco. These events each contained six speakers who were given the challenge of concisely introducing and explaining the one thing they could not live without. Drawing from an infinite array of objects and experiences, each speaker had to deliver their narrative in only five minutes, no more, no less.

Since its inception, twelve different Figures of Speech have already spoken freely about their object of choice and, every week, the SpinVox blog will be where you can read what they had to say and what they had to say it about.

See you back here next Monday where will introduce our first speaker.

In the meantime, keep checking back to find out more about SpinVox, our vision, our Speech Mobbing and much, much more!
